RISE Youth Basketball League Player Pledge

Respect. Integrity. Sportsmanship. Excellence.

As a proud member of the RISE Youth Basketball League, I understand that being part of this team means more than just playing the game. It means becoming a better teammate, a better leader, and a better person. By signing this pledge, I promise to live out the values of RISE—on the court, in school, at home, and in my community.

I pledge to:

Respect
   •    Respect myself, my teammates, my coaches, and my opponents.
   •    Listen, learn, and follow instructions from those who lead and teach me.
   •    Treat referees and all game officials with courtesy, no matter what.

Integrity
   •    Always do what’s right, even when no one is watching.
   •    Be honest in my words and actions.
   •    Own my mistakes and learn from them.

Sportsmanship
   •    Play fair and play hard.
   •    Win with humility and lose with grace.
   •    Encourage others and never put anyone down.

Excellence
   •    Give my best effort in every practice and every game.
   •    Stay committed to improving myself as a player and as a person.
   •    Lead by example and lift others up around me.

I understand that by taking this pledge, I represent something bigger than myself. I represent my team, my league, my family, and my future. I will carry this responsibility with pride, humility, and determination.

RISE Youth Basketball League Parent/Guardian Pledge

As a parent or guardian of a player in the RISE Youth Basketball League, I understand that my words, actions, and attitude play a powerful role in shaping the experience of every child in this program—including my own.

By signing this pledge, I commit to supporting my child, their teammates, coaches, referees, and the RISE community with the same principles we ask our young athletes to follow.

Support with Respect
   •    Respect the coaches and league staff, and trust their decisions.
   •    Treat all players, officials, and other parents with kindness and courtesy.
   •    Use only positive language from the sidelines—no yelling, arguing, or criticizing.

Demonstrate Integrity
   •    Be a role model in behavior, attitude, and accountability.
   •    Follow all league rules, policies, and expectations.
   •    Encourage my child to play fair and be honest in all things.

Promote Sportsmanship
   •    Celebrate effort, improvement, and teamwork—not just winning.
   •    Remind my child to handle both victory and defeat with grace.
   •    Avoid putting pressure on my child to perform.

Support Excellence
   •    Encourage my child to give their best effort at all times.
   •    Promote balance between academics, athletics, and life.
   •    Work with the league to foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for all.
